About this case

Before Mars as a catalyst for a close-knit, collaborative team

Highly collaborative teams don't just happen. It takes open-mindedness and courage to change your team. Elacin meets in Belgium with an international team.

The event

Getting a close-knit international/decentralised team to work together requires a special management effort. Different (working) cultures, time zones and internal processes. And at the same time, you have to focus on customer satisfaction and achieving internal KPIs. Before Mars immerses participants in a VUCA environment: volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Lots of information, quick decisions and a fast-approaching final objective.

Before Mars holds up a mirror to the participants: the way the game is played reflects the reality of the company. How does internal communication work? What is the balance between internal competition and cooperation? Is the focus on high added-value strategic tasks or on sequential quick wins?
